development of digital stills- types of flash
in order to create good portrait imagery i will have to think about the flash
for the chained picture dark and directional light with use of shadow is essential to set it's mood.
for the cut out picture natural light should be used for the outside parts and simple full lighting for the objects on the board but for the face using shadow would be good.
for the line up one this is were light will be so important. i want to use it to illustrate different personalities of the subjects. so have a good use of flash and other lighting is essential.
this is a good tutorial on how to use the external flash to create different levels of lighting. i would use the external flash but also use the studio lights to compliment it.

this tutorial is really useful in developing a better understanding of flash i think now all i will need is a studio tutorial to help set the method in the studio.
this is a perfect example of using flash to not lose the subject in the background darkness but still have it fit. i want to emulate that in my imagery but have more strong shadows on the subject to represent mood.
this image is a perfect example of using studio flash. this is what i want to do. i will have to use 3 point lighting and this is also created using photoshop techniques.
i also want to experiment with low key lighting which i love and feel shows a huge amount of depth to a image
i want to try i use this kind of lighting in my image.
